Apostille and Legalization Services

Having obtained the export certificates, certain countries require the export certificates to be certified by U.S. government agencies or foreign embassies in the U.S. Depending on the document and country, the process of getting the export certificates certified varies. It either needs to be apostilled or authenticated/legalized. You can request this service when you apply for a Certificate of Origin, Certificate of Free Sale, or Good Manufacturing Practice Certificate.

Apostille: An apostille is a type of certification that is recognized internationally by countries that are signatories to the Hague Convention, ensuring that documents issued in one member country are recognized in another without the need for further certification.

Legalization: For countries that are not parties to the Hague Convention, the legalization process involves a series of steps to verify the authenticity of the document. This usually includes notarization, certification by the local Secretary of State, Department of State, and finally certification by the embassy or consulate of the destination country. This process ensures that the document is officially recognized and accepted in the foreign country.
